Reorganizing cultivated beds in Yagma garden, Burkina Faso

The gardener of Yagma had prepared two beds composed only of parsley plants.

In order to maximize the use of space and to optimize the watering of the beds, we undertook to take out half of the parsley plants and to replant them in combination with other crops already present in the garden, such as peppers and aubergines. We removed the staggered plants so that the spaces freed up can be occupied by the new species prepared in the nursery. Combining crops is one of the basic principles of permaculture, it allows to maximize the yield on small surfaces and to make the most of the watering by limiting the number of cultivated beds.
