No waste at La Traversine, everything is transformed !

After collecting spoiled vegetables from the neighborhood organic grocery store, the children poured them into the central compost bin of the keyhole.

We also added a bucket of dead leaves collected in the yard that we mixed with the vegetables.

The combination of carbonaceous material (dead leaves) and nitrogen (spoiled vegetables) helps the compost to decompose, so the mixture will quickly turn into compost with the help of earthworms and provide nutrients to feed the vegetables planted around the keyhole.
