First planting on the new beds in the Garden of Skills, Eswatini

posted in: Malanti Garden

After enriching the soil with compost, manure and biochar produced with the support of The Ivory Foundation, the women of Fundzisa Live planted the first crops on the new cultivation beds.

Various vegetables (carrots, lettuce, spinach, radishes) were planted in association in order to make the most of the cultivated area. It was also an opportunity to define a crop rotation on these newly created beds. Thus, the vegetables grown on the same bed will not be the same from year to year in order to prevent the proliferation of pests and allow the soil to regenerate.
