First meeting with women from the neighbourhood for training in the agro-ecological garden, Yagma, Burkina Faso

With the support of The Ivory Foundation, the AAJY association, in charge of managing the Yagma garden, organised a meeting with women from the neighbourhood who were interested in learning how to apply the good practices of the Yagma garden in their homes.

This meeting was able to raise awareness among 22 women about agro-ecological market gardening by presenting them with the content of the four training sessions that will follow. The aim of this initiative is to teach the women how to grow full-ground and off-ground crops in their garden, depending on the available surface area and the configuration of the land surrounding their home. We are indeed in a peri-urban area and the land is sometimes very small. It should be noted that the women who have been selected for this experiment are concentrated within a 300-metre radius around the Yagma college, which will facilitate the follow-up visits to their homes by the garden facilitators.
